The Wicker Moan
Ok, I’ve not about to post yet another diatribe against the latest version of the Wicker Man. If the original was dear to you, simply don’t watch the new rubbish version. I haven’t . But for all those folk who have suggested Nicholas Cage ought to be sent to the moon, I drove past this…

More Home Alone…
Miss and miss nipped off to London on Monday to see the sights and visit Miss’ auntie. I took up my customary paintbrush and decorated the hall, stairs and landing, and our bedroom. It seems to be a standard now, but it’ll have to stop soon; after five years of living in essentially builders’ magnolia nearly…

Once in Rainy St David’s City…
Well, not quite, but the weather was certainly a factor in our week long camping trip to St David’s in Pembrokeshire, West Wales. Homecomings
Panic sets in as I realise Miss and miss are back home tomorrow. And probably preceded in arrivals by my mum, who’s down to celebrate her seventieth too! Oh well, the house is mostly tidy, the garden ploughed (I mean weeded and mowed) and the cupboards are… bare. Bugrit! Knew I’d forgotten something. How easily…

Home alone
Miss and miss have gone! Ok, I’m cool – I’m fairly sure they’re coming back… um, they weren’t joking, where they? 🙂 They’ve gone off to a camp site in France to unwind after the end of the school year and I’ve got the place to myself for ten days. I’ve already bought paint… I’ll…

Don’t take that call!
So, apparently (uh-huh) it is now dangerous to make mobile phone calls in thunderstorms… Yep, that phone can summon down Thor’s displeasure. I heard it on the radio this morning and thought I was dreaming, but now here’s the story. It cites several people who had been struck by lightning, and because they were speaking…

miss becomes mademoiselle
At least I think that’s how you spell it… long time since French classes. At two thirty this morning we got up to pack miss off on the school coach to France. She’ll be away until Sunday, visiting such places as the Bayeux tapestry and hopefully speaking some local lingo. Missing her already. 🙂
