Oh the joy, the misery!
Having been left behind this afternoon while the girls go shopping, I’ve managed to get the music corner sorted out, and looked forward to a good noodle (well ok, if you’ve heard me you’ll know it’s never a good noodle, only a terrible racket – but I like it!). But I was out working in…

How free is the freedom of expression?
Such a hoo-har at the moment about some cartoon depictions of the prophet Muhammad that have been printed and re-printed in several European newspapers this week. The media is full of folk decrying this ‘blasphemous outrage’ while others demand that the freedom of the press, and free speech in general, be protected at all and…

Big up Little Birdy!
Just now on the BBC News24 was film of a Mexican bull called Little Birdy, that was being ‘fought’ in a bullring in Mexico City. The film shows the huge bull leaping over the ring into the crowd, goring several spectators before it was despatched by one of the fighters. I don’t think I can…

The Ode Less Travelled – Iambic Pentameter
Sometimes it seems that Druidry is all about Bardic poetry. Sometimes perhaps it is. When I was at school, poetry was a torture undergone reluctantly alongside Far from the Madding Crowd (which formed the majority of my English Literature O-Level exam (which I passed yah boo sucks and chiz)).

Argh! That point and click eBay frenzy!
I’ve been watching home recording kit on eBay for some time, particularly Boss Digital Multi-tracks such as the BR-532, BR-864 and BR-1180. I want to try multi-tracking some of my wibble, and these appear to be on the level of my meagre abilities… Although I wouldn’t say I am a musician, I mess about with…

Dying for Fur – Inside the Chinese Fur Trade
I have a pretty strong stomach. I’ve not been in active service in the forces, and so have mercifully not seen much in terms of blood and gore beyond one car accident I happened upon. Nevertheless, I have a pretty strong stomach. But I happened upon a link today relating to the Fur Industry in…

And thus they win…
Bing, bong! goes the email demon as the next email slides gracefully into my already overloaded intray… Apparently a few of our folk have been approached outside some of our sites by non-Company people and [horror!] have been asked about their religious beliefs. That’s resulted in a broadcast email about how to ‘disengage from the…

Coffee, a minor rant!
I am practically in despair of finding a coffee shop that can make full and effective use of the industry grade machinery in their control! No matter how shiny and polished, how many levers and knobs, the dials, spouts and grinders, what they dispense seems always to come out looking and tasting like weak instant.
