Morning. Haven’t checked in here for some time. But the clocks have gone back, although only an hour whereas I was hoping for spring 1999… So much has happened, or in fact mostly not happened, over the past eight months… But maybe I’ll be working in here with some photography and waffle again. After all, what’s the point of having a web site if you don’t write bollocks in it…
Westonbirt Arboretum in autumn

The colours of the autumnal Acers in the arboretum are always spectacular, but it was raining and that brought out the vibrancy beautifully. And the lawyers wig mushroom!
Despite the ongoing covid situation and our extreme vulnerability to infection we still get out and about. We just don’t do people if at all possible. We do miss you all, and our heads are variously messed up, but we prevail…
Now, let’s see if this seeds a few more wandering waffle whitterings…
Beautiful!

Missing you too. Perhaps one day we can stand a fair way away from each other and wave and yell in a safe sort of way. Perhaps one day there will be a vaccine. I live in hope. x

Wonderful photos of Westonbirt. I never managed to get there in autumn because of the huge queues, but it’s a wonderful place at any time of year.

Thanks. Going in the drenching rain does reduce the number of people you might encounter. 😉

Ooh gorgeous acers we have acer palmatum ‘Bloodgood’ and ‘Seiryu’ amongst others in our local rock garden which is occasionally referred to as a Japanese garden on Avenham park here in Preston. Utterly stunning at this time of year. Along with all the other maples 🙂
