Severn View

I remember when Severn View was a motorway services on the old M4…

View across the Severn to Wales
View across the Severn to Wales

This is the view from Frocester Common, Gloucestershire, looking towards Wales across the wonderfully sinuous river Severn. It was taken on a warm autumnal Sunday, as members of the Auroch Grove walked between Selsley Longbarrow and Uley Bury, taking in Nymsfield Longbarrow and Hetty Pegler’s Tump along the way. All these worthy sites are perched on the edge of the Cotswold escarpment, and you an imagine the ancestors of this place looking out across the estuary.
