Bread

It’s been a long time since I last played with making bread, but the recent last minute purchases of cheaply made bread at extortionate prices made me reconsider my baking abilities. Ok, so I tossed random amounts of flour, salt, sugar, milk and yeast into the bread maker and let that do the kneading… lol. Don’t buy a dog and bark yourself, do you?

Tasted lovely, all hot and running with butter. And tomorrow, something a little lighter, say, half and half brown and white flour, and a bit of vitamin C to make it rise. And some seeds to roll it in before baking. Ah, how it all comes back.

Something to take ones mind off Miss and the marking…

Mind, ones mind is currently on miss rather than Miss. Her bus back to Manchester has just caught fire and she’s on the hard shoulder of the M5 somewhere. Ooh, look. I’m blogging again! I must have too much time on my hands.

  1. Mark, try just flour, water, yeast and a bit of salt. seeds maybe for added flavour and fun. but drop the added vitamins and sugar – completely unneeded and counter-productive to a good healthy loaf. See “Bread Matters” if you want a good read with fine recipes for tasty and healthy bread.
