I bought it on the basis of a recommendation heard on  Radio 4. It sounded rather good. I struggled for a fortnight with it until, somewhere about halfway, I simply couldn’t find the energy to keep going. Sorry James (I saw you click on my blog), the writing was fine but the swapping plotlines just baffled me. Probably that’s me being too tired to concentrate, and I’ll keep it on the shelf for another try maybe.
