So… five megapixels… lots more than the iPad2. But is it any good? Well, it’s ok. Not a patch on my Canon 7D dslr, but then it only cost about half what I paid for the lens on the camera, much less than the camera itself. Shooting takes about a second, as the software whizzes the focus back and forth, and the results aren’t bad. The photo above is just a resize from 1952×2592 to 500×664 for the purposes of this blog, and it was shot a little into the sun which explains the haze, but it’s not that bad. The rear facing camera is two megapixel and of similar quality.
Oh, and the picture is of the rhododendrons at Westonbirt Arboretum, taken today. The colour truly is amazing. Go soon if you want to see it first hand.
