When I die…

One day I’m going to be dead. Not a problem for me (I’ll be dead, remember). Perhaps a problem for those left behind. So here are a few gathered thoughts, well at least one as it was the one that called me to write this – perhaps there’s an omen… /me checks outside to se if the stormcrow is cawing… nope, only chickens.

Of course, you’ll probably not even find this or know it’s here. Perhaps someone will tell you. It may be a raven…

[heh. It’s 2014 and I’ve just found this barely started project… time for a review and some progress…]
[hmm, 2017 now and still only the music seems important.][that’s because it is.]

  1. Open with
    1. Sabres of Paradise – Haunted Dancehall. Well if it is (or was) good enough for Queenie… quite nice for the initial gathering perhaps. Not really bassy enough. Use a subwoofer or three.

  2. Ritual [TBA]
  3. Then
    1. John Miles – Music. Just put this video up on any nearby wall… If you don’t get complaints from at least three members of the public in the nearest village it wasn’t loud enough.

  4. Readings

The Road goes ever on and on Out from the door where it began. Now far ahead the Road has gone. Let others follow, if they can! Let them a journey new begin. But I at last with weary feet Will turn towards the lighted inn, My evening-rest and sleep to meet. ./|.Still ’round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate; And though I oft have passed them by, A day has come at last, and I Shall take the hidden paths that run West of the Moon, East of the Sun. ./|.fettled, original by J. R. R. Tolkein

  5. Then a time for contemplation, with

Pink Floyd – Great Gig in the Sky – straight off the album, all four minutes and forty seven (ish) seconds of it, really loud. If I was to be cremated, that’s the music that would come on once the button was pressed and the curtains began to close. Since I am not going to be cremated, it will have to be in whatever building we congregate prior to interment. Make sure it has splendid acoustics. If it’s sunny and warm, we’ll be outside of course, so bring big speakers!

Interment

Readings [TBA]

All life is transitory. A dream. We all come together in the same place at the end of time. If I do not see you again here, I will see you in a little while in the place where no shadows fall. [B5]

Closing chant as we (I mean, you) all leave – someone will have to know this and start you off!

“May the long time Sun shine upon you, all love surround you, and the pure light within you, guide your way on.” (To the tune used by The Incredible String Band)
